As of 1 January 2012, those signed up for the Adi organ donor card and their families will enjoy priority as transplant recipients.
The Adi organ donor card signifies one’s willingness to donate organs after death. For details about how prioritization works (and a bit about the perspective of Jewish law), please see With an Adi organ donor card, the life you save may be your own on No Fryers.
What is important to know today is that if you sign up between now and 31 December 2011, you and your loved ones will enjoy priority as transplant recipients as of 1 January 2012. Those who sign up after the end of this year will have to wait three years from sign up to be given priority.
See the original article in order for information on how to register for the Adi organ donor card.
Consider signing up for an Adi organ donor card and soon. After all, you can’t take ’em with you when you go, you could potentially provide others with longer lives, and you can also help protect your own life and the lives of your family.
