Need an emergency shelter in Ashdod, Ashkelon, or Beersheva? There’s an app for that.
Usually, I like to review things discussed here. However, because of the emergency situation, I thought that, if there are any No Fryers readers with iPhones in the south, they could update us in the comments about how this works.
The app called Secure Spaces, currently only available for iPhone, was developed by Ashdod residents and is being pushed by the Ashdod Municipality. Using GPS, it will tell you where the closest public shelter is in Ashdod, Ashkelon, or Beersheva. Of course, there may be other places you can seek shelter in the event of emergency.
The app can be downloaded from the iTunes store.
Pass it to any friends in the south, and let us know in the comments how it works.
Fantastic idea, I would like to see this app expanded to include all of Israel or at least all areas within range of the Gaza missiles.
That would be great, Marc. And, how about us Android users, too?
