The Ministry of Communications (MOC) is spending 3 million NIS to let consumers know about the new laws which benefit mobile phone consumers. As part of the MOC campaign, in a humorous ad, outspoken Israeli sports journalist and commentator Ron Kaufman coaches a group of consumers in how to deal with cellular companies with their new found strength.
Accompanying the campaign is a newly launched website: מעבר קל. Among the other benefits discussed (such as being able to break your long-term contract for cheap), mobile carriers are obligated to keep cell phones open and free of any locks.
החל מ – 1.1.2011, נכנס לתוקף חוק… ואוסר על חברות הסלולאר למכור מכשירי סלולאר נעולים, המיודעים לשימוש בלעדי של כרטיסי ה-SIM של החברה עצמה.
New cell phones must be sold unlocked, and older phones bought from cellular companies must be unlocked for free! Enjoy your newfound freedom!
